We make the complex simple.
We built a scroll controlled animation using GSAP to explain research into how to protect and empower young people when designing digital services.
In collaboration with Craig Walker & TTC Labs, we were tasked with creating a visual explainer for a series of workshops with youth leaders and policy makers in Australia, the United States and the UK. With the brief: How do we empower, protect and guide young people from different communities around the world?
During the research phase the project team identified three personas that could demonstrate the shifting digital landscape for young people. These personas were fleshed out into storyline’s and storyboards were created. From these storyboards the development team prototyped the movement and some key pinned scenes.
Prototyping is always an important stage as it helps the designers and developers align on the technical possibilities. The story contained multiple layers that were animated in and out using GSAP and linked to scroll. This means a lot of planning in the artwork delivery and strong communication with the client to streamline the feedback and amendment process. The result is a delightful and engaging way to explain a complex story in the browser.
