Product prototypes are used to test out a design more rigourously. We can use real data within user testing sessions to make user testing more insightful.
Product prototypes are also important for testing out integrations thoroughly before committing to an expensive build. For example, is Mapbox going to give us the flexibility and speed needed to track our delivery drivers for a new feature on a delivery app? We can test this in a cheap and effective way and then fully understand the technical implications of such a tech stack.
Sometimes a product prototype can actually become the real tool. Our product prototypes are sometimes fully working MVP versions of a tool or product.
