About Supermarket

Supermarket is a dedicated and highly-skilled team of developers delivering well-designed and built work in the emerging digital space.

Together we have collaborated on immersive digital work for a diverse range of clients such as Meta, Bupa, Lululemon, Google, ANZ and Fairfax.

We believe in making technical development accessible and collaborating with partners that have big ambitions – and problems to solve.

We strive to make the complex simple.

Technical Expertise

We provide expertise in the programming language JavaScript. We are experts in React-based frameworks, JavaScript libraries and headless content management systems.

Day to day we work in React frameworks Next.js, Gatsby and Vite.

For our 3D work we are experts in React Three Fiber andThree.js.

For virtual Reality we use Unity if React-XR does not suffice.

For map-based applications we use Mapbox.

Our backend work, when we do it, is in Node.js and Mongo DB.

For content management systems we typically use Prismic. For our rapid prototypes that need something more database-like we will use Airtable.

This list is not exhaustive and we experiment with many more tools. When a technology seems useful we will test it internally, create some proof of concepts to gain an understanding of it and then start to gradually use it in our projects.
